Peng's Family

Lucinda and Naomi Peng
Dec. 2001
As Winnie the Pooh said “no more months.” We are at the end of the year again. Happily we’ll have another new year and we are one more year older. Hooray. Happy New Year!
In the new year, Lucinda will be six and Naomi will be three. Can you believe it? We cannot wait to get bigger because we can do many more things.

Pretty Colors, Pretty Girls

My Baby
Lucinda: I’m in K-5 and love my school. I like to read to my sissy and myself, and do my math. I continue my piano lessons but I changed my piano teacher. She is very nice but very serious and rigorous about my finger positioning. It’s really tricky to play it well. But I’m gonna practice it every day. Besides piano, I love all sorts of sports too. In the summer I learned to swim; I was a blue gill. In the fall I enjoyed the soccer lessons. In the winter I’m taking ice-skating lessons. My mom teaches me Ping-Pong (table tennis) sometimes in our basement. And, I started going to the Milwaukee Chinese Sunday School in the fall. I met a lot of new Chinese girls and boys. They all like me having black hair. Chinese is hard, but I am not gonna give it up because I want to talk with my grandpa and grandma in China in Chinese.

Time For Candy!!!

Lucinda loves to be like a ballerina
Lucinda Oh, talking about China, I almost forget to tell you that we went back to China in the Summer. My Dad had a conference in Shanghai, so we all went back with him, including my grandma and grandpa who returned to China after a year of visiting here. We revisited my Dad’s and Mom’s hometowns. We were so happy to see my uncles, aunts and cousins. This was the first time for Naomi to go to China. We had a lot of fun, and had so much yummy food. Oh, I was so excited see huge panda bears in the Shanghai Zoo!

Visiting Shanghai

Naomi Loves Pandas
Naomi Yah, we saw two big pandas and two baby pandas. The baby pandas were so cute that I wanted to take them home. But Mom said we could not. So we took a lot of Panda beanie babies home. Just so you know I’m a big girl now. I can ride my tricycle by myself and go wherever I want to go. It’s so fun to have a big sissy. I want to do everything with her, swimming, playing soccer, and of course reading books, playing house, watching TV, and riding real big bikes……

We like to smell the flowers
Lucinda is hot and tired
Lucinda and Naomi We love playing with Dad. He is so fun. We enjoyed piggy back riding on Dad’s back, up and down, and all around the house. Again, again! We laughed and giggled all the time. Mom got a new job early this year in a dental insurance company as a business data analyst. Her work place is less than ten minutes away from our home. So Mom comes to pick up Lucinda everyday after school. She said she liked her working environment and had a very nice boss. Grandma Eleanor and Grandpa Ted from Portland came to visit us during the Labor Day weekend. We had a lot of fun together at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center and the new Milwaukee Art Museum.

We all love to feel the wind
Lucinda made a gingerbread house!!!
Yummy!
Take a look at the new Milwaukee Art Museum, isn’t it beautiful? Hope some day you can come to visit us and we’ll take you there.
